30th St. Corridor Wet Weather Relief Phase 2 Storm Water West Basin

M Squared Engineering, LLC (M2) teamed with Smith Group on this urban stormwater and flooding relief project.  This urban flood relief project proposed to implement a final, large-scale stormwater detention basin located just north of Capitol Drive along 35th Street in the City of Milwaukee to help alleviate local flooding during large and small storm events.  This, in conjunction with two smaller recently completed basins, provide much-needed local flood relief when complete.  M2 was responsible for performing all the survey required for this project, including horizontal and vertical control, field topographic survey, development of the survey base mapping, preparation of a detailed existing ground surface, staking for various geotechnical and environmental sampling efforts, and all other related survey efforts in support of the project design.  In addition, M2  provided design and permitting support for this project, including regulatory permitting and permit coordination / support, utility conflict identification and conflict resolution efforts, support for the acquisition of any necessary easements, and other design support as needed.
