WisDOT STH158 (52nd Street) STH31 to STH 32

M Squared Engineering, LLC (M²) provided WisDOT construction management services on this 2.4-mile stretch of STH 158 from STH 31 to STH 32.  This project corridor was resurfaced and included asphaltic surface milling, HMA paving, beam guard, concrete base patching, storm sewer structure adjustments, concrete sidewalk, curb ramps, concrete curb and gutter, permanent signing, and pavement marking.

The corridor included emergency access for the Kenosha Fire Department as well as work adjacent to an airport.  Two above-grade crossings, as well as a stream crossing, added complexity.  A fast-paced project with a tight timeline requiring night shift work to maintain the schedule.

Our project leader and field inspectors coordinated and assured the erosion control and the Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) remained in compliance.  The M² field staff stayed in constant communication with our office, allowing additional design expertise with just a phone call. Our recommended maintenance strategies and techniques ensured the design life of the project was met. Daily inspection reports, photos, and other supporting documentation were filed and distributed digitally to the project team daily.
